Kidambi Srikanth and PV Sindhu go to the quarterfinals of the Australian Open


<p>P.V. <p>In a 29-minute match, Sindhu, who earned a silver medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and a bronze medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, beat fellow countryman Aakarshi Kashyap.</p>
<p>Srikanth won the BWF World Tour Super 500 competition in the second round on Court 3 at the Quaycentre by defeating Su Li Yang of Chinese Taipei 21-10, 21-17.</p>
<p>This was Sindhu’s first encounter with Aakarshi, and the more seasoned player maintained an edge throughout the contest, driving home her advantage to secure a straightforward victory. Sindhu, who is ranked fifth in the tournament, will play fourth-seeded Malaysian Beiwen Zhang next. Beiwen Zhang advanced to the final eight after defeating Huang Yu-Hsun in a grueling second-round match 19-21, 21-10, 21-12.</p>
<p>In the next round, Srikanth, who beat Kenta Nishimoto of Japan 21-18, 21-7, will compete against the winner of the contest between Priyanshu Rajawat of India and Wang Tzu Wei of Chinese Taipei.</p>
