<p>The team confirmed on Saturday that Daniel Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda would be driving for AlphaTauri in the Formula One championship the next season, with stand-in Liam Lawson moving back to the reserve position.</p>

<p>In qualifying for the Singapore Grand Prix last weekend, Lawson eliminated world champion Max Verstappen, and he went on to complete the race in eighth position.</p>
<p>The 21-year-old will take the wheel in the Japanese Grand Prix on Sunday at Suzuka.</p>
<p>However, he will make way for Australian veteran Ricciardo in the next campaign. Ricciardo joined AlphaTauri in July to take the position of underwhelming Dutchman Nyck de Vries.</p>
<p>It’s an exciting moment for the team, according to Ricciardo, who stated as much in a statement provided by AlphaTauri. “Following the progress we have already made and the plans for the future, it’s an exciting time for the team,” the statement said.</p>
<p>“It feels wonderful to be constructing.</p>
<p>There is still a lot of work to be done, but things are looking up and we are moving in the right way.</p>
<p>Tsunoda will compete for AlphaTauri for a fourth consecutive season.</p>
<p>The 23-year-old stated, “I’m looking forward to continue to fight and work with the team and Daniel.</p>
<p>“Obviously, I’ll push as hard as I can to improve as a driver for the remainder of the season and beyond.”</p>
<p>In the constructors’ rankings, AlphaTauri is presently at the bottom with just five points earned thus far.</p>
