He worked in India for a little while before relocating to the US. Krishnan said that upon relocating from Chennai to Silicon Valley, he experienced a cultural shock. Anna University was his engineering school from 2001 until 2005. Elon Musk recruited the internet entrepreneur from Chennai when he purchased Twitter in 2022. Krishnan recently spoke about his experience working with top CEOs at the World Government Summit in the United Arab Emirates.

“I taught myself to write code when I was a youngster, which helped me pursue a career in technology. I consider myself really lucky. I started working at Microsoft in 2007. Before Satya became the CEO of Microsoft, I spent a number of years working for him in Seattle. Then, I worked for Mark Zuckerberg at Facebook, which is now Meta. Then, on many instances, I’ve had the chance to collaborate in some capacity with Elon. Most famously, or most recently, during Twitter’s takeover (X). I work at Andreessen Horowitz as a general partner at the moment. During the meeting, Krishnan said to Time magazine’s Naina Bajekal, “We are a large venture capital firm.”

According to Krishnan, the majority of successful CEOs had a few characteristics. “If you look at CEOs like Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg, they tend to be more detail-oriented than they are delegation-oriented. Furthermore, I would argue that micromanagement is undervalued and delegating is overvalued, if I may be that bold. He went on, “Every outstanding CEO I’ve ever encountered is a constant micromanager.

He ran product teams for consumer internet software at Twitter (now X), Meta, and Snap throughout the preceding ten years. Along with his wife Aarthi Ramamurthy, he broadcasts a podcast on tech and creativity.
