A statement released by the Power Ministry on Tuesday states that the project would produce 252 million units of energy in its first year, with a total expected output of 5,805 million units during a 25-year period.

Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) would receive the electricity produced by the Raghanesda Solar electricity Station for a 25-year period under the terms of a long-term power purchase agreement.

SJVN now has 2,377 MW of installed capacity as a result of this project. With the commissioning of the 50 MW Gujrai Solar Power Station in Uttar Pradesh on February 23, this milestone signifies the start of SJVN’s second solar project this month.

Through tariff-based competitive bidding managed by GUVNL, SJVN Green Energy Limited—the renewable division of SJVN Limited—was able to acquire the 100 MW Raghanesda Solar Power Station at a price of Rs 2.64 per unit. The project would cost Rs 642 crore to build and develop.

In keeping with its commitment to environmentally friendly projects and responsible development, SJVN was able to get funding for the project from Japan Bank for international cooperation via the Global action for Reconciling Economic growth and Environmental preservation (GREEN) program.

In addition to significantly advancing Gujarat’s aspirations for renewable energy, the project will provide energy security in the area.

According to SJVN Chairperson and Managing Director Geeta Kapur, the company’s 11th power project’s commissioning demonstrates its commitment to improving the country’s green energy environment and bolstering its standing as a significant participant in the energy industry.
